iboss Announces the Industry’s First Capability to Apply IP Login Restrictions To Cloud Applications for Mobile Users

BOSTON, Mass., March 5, 2019 iboss today announced IP restriction capabilities natively designed into the iboss cloud platform which allows IP-based login restrictions to be applied to mobile users working on the road. IP login restrictions capabilities are a critical component of an organization’s cloud security strategy as it’s used to restrict access to sanctioned cloud applications based on a user’s IP Address identity. Prior to this capability, restricting access to cloud applications by a user’s IP Address was only possible when users were inside the organization’s network perimeter but difficult to achieve when users were on the road. With this capability, IP Address login restrictions can be applied to users regardless of location which increases an organization’s security posture and reduces the risk for data loss.

According to Forbes, 83% of enterprise workloads will be in the cloud by 2020 and 66% of IT professionals say security is their most significant concern in adopting an enterprise cloud computing strategy.

iboss delivers Internet security in the cloud which is leveraged by thousands of organizations to secure their users in a cloud-first and mobile world. iboss’s cloud application IP login restrictions are natively built into the iboss cloud platform which provides dedicated IP Addresses in the cloud and can be used to configure cloud application login portals. Since users are always connected to iboss cloud regardless of location, the IP Address cloud applications detect always belong to the organization and can be used to apply an additional layer of login security to sanctioned cloud applications. This capability is available to all iboss cloud customers at no additional cost. IP login restrictions allow organizations to provide their users safe and compliant access to mission critical cloud applications, such as Microsoft Office 365, and SAML providers, such as OKTA, at no additional cost making it easy to transition from appliance based web security solutions to cloud based Internet security. In addition, eliminating the need to back-haul Internet data through private connections to perform IP-based login restrictions increases speeds to cloud applications which increases user productivity. This is achieved by allowing users to connect directly to cloud applications while on the road.

“The ability to apply login policies and manage when and where a user can access an organization’s cloud applications is an essential part of protecting corporate data residing in the cloud”, said Paul Martini, CEO and co-founder of iboss. “At iboss, we are focused on delivering cloud security that allows organizations to transition from network security appliances to cloud security without sacrificing their security posture or increasing costs.”
