Goodbye Gateway Appliances.
   Hello Secure Cloud Gateway.

Our Story

Picture of iboss founders

From 3 B.C.

As far back as 3 B.C. (Before Cloud), iboss was thinking about how to protect users from cybercrime in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. The ceaseless advances of smartphones coupled with higher bandwidth networks and wireless access enabled users worldwide to work from the road and save to the cloud. It also offered cybercriminals an even larger attack surface to target.

More Computing, More Crime

With increases in computing and bandwidth, cybercrime graduated from annoying web pop-ups to much more sophisticated forms of malware designed to penetrate networks and exit with intellectual property. The enemy of IT was no longer failing hardware or software but, rather, intelligent and dedicated humans seeking to do harm.

Moving to the Cloud

While targeted users were becoming untethered, corporate applications were also moving to the cloud. More and more solutions such as sales force automation (SFA), customer relations management (CRM), and enterprise resource planning (ERP), were being offered as a cloud-based software service. Noting that the fundamental landscape of computing was radically changing, iboss set out to deliver a cloud security solution that could scale with its customers and meet the challenges of the constantly evolving cybercrime battlefield.

Fast-Forward to the Cloud Era

As users and mission-critical applications move to the cloud, it only makes sense that security must follow. Now, with the click of a mouse, customers can receive URL filtering, malware defense, antivirus protection, and data loss prevention, no matter where they are or what phone, laptop, or tablet they use.
