Monthly Product Update: New Features Added to the iboss Cloud Platform

Following on the June release for the iboss Cloud Platform that added FTP Relay and Private Access for macOS users, today we are announcing a new secure connectivity feature with the addition of Reverse Proxy. This new feature adds an additional connectivity experience, offering secure access to business-critical applications from unmanaged devices using a standard web browser.

The Reverse Proxy feature secures access over HTTPS for unmanaged devices to allow users on those devices secure connectivity to private applications, without the need for an agent to be present on the endpoint. Organizations have the option to enable Reverse Proxy for unmanaged devices and third party/contractor users who need access to these protected applications over HTTPS and HTTP.

To improve security and reduce the need for on-prem proxy or VPN, the private applications are configured so they are only accessible through the iboss Cloud Platform. The Reverse Proxy allows the iboss platform to inspect the content for threats, including malware and data loss (DLP), while adding visibility over devices accessing the private applications. This delivers additional security and visibility not offered with a dedicated on-prem VPN solution.

This latest feature adds a new way to connect unmanaged devices securely to private applications through iboss cloud. Customers already using our recently announced Unlimited package will automatically be entitled to the Reverse Proxy feature. The Unlimited package offers unlimited users, unlimited devices, and unlimited core platform features. This enables greater value for our customers running on the iboss Cloud Platform as new features are released.
